The Love Community Center is proud to serve as a host site for the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) in partnership with the Rush to Work Job Center. This program provides paid, community-based training opportunities for older adults while supporting meaningful services that benefit Rush County.

What is SCSEP?

SCSEP is designed to help participants build skills, gain confidence, and create pathways toward long-term employment — all while staying active and connected to the community.

Partner Agency: Rush to Work Job Center

Available Positions:

SCSEP participants may be placed in one of the following training roles, based on program eligibility and availability:

  • Administrative Assistant / Executive Assistant

  • Front Desk Attendant

  • Maintenance & Custodial Support

  • Child Watch Attendant

  • Library Clerk

Positions are designed as training opportunities that build transferable skills applicable to long-term employment.

Pay & Schedule

  • Pay Rate: $9.00 – $12.00 per hour
    (Determined by the SCSEP agency based on eligibility and placement)

  • Hours: Part-time or Full-Time
    (Up to 40 hours per week, depending on placement)

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for SCSEP placement, applicants must:

  • Be 55 years of age or older

  • Meet income eligibility requirements under SCSEP guidelines

  • Complete a background check prior to placement

Please note: Submitting an application does not guarantee placement in the program. Eligibility and placement decisions are made by the SCSEP administering agency.

SCSEP Program Overview:

  • The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is a federally funded employment and training program for adults age 55 and older who meet income eligibility guidelines.

    Participants are placed in community service roles where they:

    • Gain hands-on, on-the-job training

    • Build updated workplace skills

    • Increase employability and confidence

    • Contribute to services that directly support the local community

    The Love Community Center’s role as a host site allows participants to train in a welcoming, multi-generational environment that reflects our mission of inclusion, empowerment, and community connection.
